CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Maryrose grew up in the small town of Goleta, CA with a strong passion for animals and had many types of pets, both domestic and exotics large and small. Since preschool, Maryrose has always had a dream of working in a zoo or aquarium, and because of this she exposed herself to every and all animal opportunities possible. At 18, she started volunteering at the Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Institute (CIMWI) where she had her first introduction to veterinary medicine rehabbing emaciated and injured marine mammals back to health. Additionally, she managed a pet store known for its reptile collection (where she picked up her nickname Rosie), volunteered at a companion parrot rescue, and became an educator at the Santa Barbara Zoo. In 2018, Maryrose made the decision to move up to the Pacific Northwest where she landed her first vet clinic job as a kennel tech in Salmon Creek, WA. From there, she found a new passion within the realm of veterinary medicine and landed a spot at PCC’s Vet Tech Program in 2021. During her schooling, she was the Vet Tech Club President and landed internships at the Santa Barbara Zoo, The Oregon National Primate Research Center, Cat Adoption Team, and coming out of graduation landed a preceptorship at the Oregon Zoo. With her passion for exotics and wanting to strengthen her skills as a licensed technician, Narra Vet Clinic was the perfect fit for all her goals. Besides loving her animals, Maryrose enjoys spending time with her husband, Drake, going on hikes, and recently started cross stitching and embroidery in her off time.
